About Us
Some maps record history. Others carry it.
In 1944, a young co-pilot climbed into a B-17 over occupied Europe with a map tucked into his bomber jacket. He flew his missions, came home, and kept that map for the rest of his life.
Decades later, his grandson found it in a footlocker — folded, creased from years of storage, and irreplaceable.
That map became the foundation of Battle Archives. Not as a product. As a mission.

The map my grandfather carried over German-occupied Europe in his B-17, 1944. Found decades later in a footlocker. The reason Battle Archives exists.
Trusted By Those Who Take History Seriously
Our maps hang in the offices of Google, Merrill Lynch, CBS, and the CIA. They're displayed at the United States Air Force Academy, Camp Lejeune, Fort Bragg, McGuire Air Force Base, USS Lewis B. Puller, and USCG Air Station Kodiak. They've appeared in documentaries produced by the World War II Foundation, and on the walls of customers across the United States and in more than 15 countries worldwide.
When institutions that care deeply about accuracy and permanence choose a map for their walls, they choose Battle Archives.
A Note From the Founder
I'm Mike. I served as a Field Artillery Officer in the Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
When I found my grandfather's map years later — the one he carried over German-occupied Europe in his B-17, folded and tucked into his bomber jacket — I understood something I hadn't been able to articulate before. These maps aren't decorations. They're proof. Proof that someone was there, that the ground was contested, that the outcome was not guaranteed.
Battle Archives exists to put that proof on your wall. Whether it's your grandfather's battle, your own, or the one that first made you understand what service costs — we'll help you find it.
